Quick Impression ( Damn overnight release and us aussies have to go to work) - 5 minutes in game

You wont have to learn how to drive again (well i didnt) - Fast guys maybe some fine subtle differences but ill leave for you to day.

It does however feel different - by feel i mean look and sound a bit different. Graphics wise the amount of extra detail / reflections seems stunning but also has the feel to me of maybe being a bit faster. The engine sounds are more refined - so hitting the high revs in the gear is more informative of the impending gear change - or the fact you bogged the car down in gear hell.

I'll grab it tonight and give it a run.

I don't feel compelled to get it either, and that's not just because it's not free. Maybe I'm out of motivation. Although I think I'll eventually download it in the future, dunno

I didn't read the title well. So i didn't even see it was possible to try it on BETA version. That's what i'm downloading now to see if it's possible for me in my active life ( when i get another work ) to buy the game.

Not sure about it yet, had to make some controller change's and lower the graphic's level as I dont like all the bloom and other fancy crap..( put's me off). car seem's to handle slightly different?, not sure if it's just psychological due to the new engine sound tho.

Well... first impression... prepare yourselfs cause you are going to lose all the cars you have done so far! At least in this BETA version it's impossible to use the cars from TM1, well you can but i think you need to change some things or whatever. None of the cars i have works on TM2 which SUCKS! I had really nice customed cars and now? I don't! xD

Apart from that FUCKING SHIT, i played a bit now and i will probably save to buy the game. BUT! I have to say a couple of things first. When i started to play TM1 i didn't play any car games on PC. It was just a new thing to me. And like all the new things i had to adapt to a new reality. That happens in TM2. Cars seems a little lighter and slower, wallbans going down are so much easier but the ones going up... maybe i didn't try times enough xD The sound of the engines is HORRIBLE seems like you have an F1 on your hears. The guys that had that Vaccum Cleaner engine sound in TM1 will LOVE this one. I didn't. The graphics are TOO MUCH developed. So much that i needed to downgrade my graphics... And i don't have a VERY GOOD COMPUTER. Just needed to do something for that amount of GLOW! Damn my eyes... i just played for like 1 hour.

Driving is not that difficult all of us can learn it quickly. Some tracks from TM1 i found on the server i was now with Astur, Yanin, Bigley, Talula and some other guys from TM1.

What is making me crazy is the fact i can't use my TM1 cars on TM2... IT JUST SUCKS!

Let's wait like 2 months to see if i can find a job and buy the fucking game...... well... in that time i will see if the TM1 community is willing to change all the things from TM1 to TM2... I hope everybody stays in TM1 or moves to TM2, but i'm pretty sure some teams will lose some members in that transition. ATR probably will be one of those teams. I can't see everybody going to TM2. Let's wait...

Driving is better, feels more real.
I do wonder if there is or comes something to take the cars.
I know tracks from tm1 also go in tm2 after a bit of modification in settings.

I still see where it goes, but if I know how to put on the tracks from tm1 I will fire up a server and see how it goes

My experience with BETA, I have to say that the game on my laptop works better than TM1, the image is nicer clearer, no jams.
Modified cars will only be available probably in the full version (skins of 1 should work - it seems to me anyway).
As for control - a little more realistic, in the game iIm not much standing out from the top.
The only thing that bothered me during the game was the lack of direction.
I like the game and probably stay with you longer than I thought.
As I play, it's probably something else I might add.

There are probably other files that may need copying as well but i havent checked yet

Update - try copying over everthing except any .gbx files from the tm1 model into the downloaded zip file from above

in dirt, the car doesn't drift too much and the cam 2 is weird... but i'm already used

The cars are to shiny for me, but the dirt takes care of that ^^
Also the sun & light/shadow, sometimes is a bit to much, hard to see were to drive/good lines.
Car indeed doesn't drift as much anymore, but I don't really like the new brake/engine sound it's weird. Maybe it grows on me, we will see

But overall I have the feeling it's easier to drive.

I'll try that Mj. I already have some models that aren't so ugly ingame but there's some details that doesn't match. The new ATR car Jamz made it's completely jammed!

I noticed that i drove a TM1 car for a while everything was good, then the car just turned grey for no reason....

It wont work, the new model is HD v.20 version, the old Nadeo skin's i.e my old design's will only work on the in-game car( like the one in MJ's pic).

If you download this model from maniaplanet...http://www.maniapark.com/ressource.php?id=882 and put the diffuse into that cars folder it will work. Or damn well should do

Ok back on topic, it's grown on me!! the gameplay is good once you get used to it and after a few hours online i was having some good races. I probably will buy it, as long as the most of the dirt community moves into Stad2.
